Eric Bailly makes honest admission about his start at Man United

Eric Bailly admits that he will have to continue to improve if he wants to hold down a regular spot at Manchester United

Eric Bailly has admitted that he will have to continue to improve if he wants to hold down a regular spot in the Manchester United first team.

The Ivorian defender arrived at Old Trafford from Villarreal in the summer transfer window as he became Jose Mourinho’s first signing at the club.

Bailly earned plenty of new admirers following his strong displays for the Red Devils following his summer switch and the defender was a regular fixture at centre-half for Mourinho’s men.

The defender is currently on international duty with the Ivory Coast at the African Cup of Nations as he looks to win the trophy with his country.

Bailly has been delighted by how his first few months at Manchester United have unfolded but feels that he will have to step his game up to continue to hold down a regular spot.

Speaking in an interview with Sport360, Bailly said: “It’s difficult to claim the position of being a first-team player but I have to enjoy every minute I get at this club because it’s a wonderful club and I am very happy to be there and to be part of it.

“I am happy to be at such a big club. I never dreamed a better dream than playing for Man United. Hopefully I can enjoy every bit of it every day.”
