Ex-Chelsea striker: What Arsenal must to do to win the Premier League title
Chris Sutton says Arsenal won't win the Premier League title until they sack Arsene Wenger
Arsenal won’t win the Premier League title until the Gunners get rid of Arsene Wenger, according to Chris Sutton.
The Gunners saw their title hopes suffer a blow in December after the north London side lost back-to-back Premier League games on the road following defeats by Everton and Manchester City.
Arsenal have managed to steady the ship in recent weeks thanks to victories over West Bromwich Albion and Crystal Palace on Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
Wenger signed five players in the summer transfer window as the Gunners boss looked to strengthen his squad following a second-place finish last term.
Arsenal haven’t won the Premier League title since 2003-04 and the north London side’s only silverware has been back-to-back FA Cups in 2014 and 2015.
Sutton doesn’t envisage Arsenal winning the title while Wenger is still in charge at The Emirates.
“I’m still not convinced by them. If Arsenal want to win a title, get rid of Arsene Wenger,” Sutton told BBC Radio’s 606 podcast.
Arsenal signed Granit Xhaka, Shkrodan Mustafi and Lucas Perez in the summer transfer window as the Gunners boss looked to build a squad capable of winning the title.
