Ex-midfielder reacts to Man United’s 2-1 loss at Hull
Matt Le Tissier is looking forward to Southampton's clash against Manchester United in the EFL Cup final
Matt Le Tissier is relishing the prospect of Manchester United facing Southampton in the EFL Cup final after the Red Devils sealed their progress despite a 2-1 loss at Hull City.
The hosts were looking to overturn a 2-0 deficit after goals from Marouane Fellaini and Juan Mata in the first leg at Old Trafford over a fortnight ago.
However, it was the home side that broke the deadlock from the penalty spot after Marcos Rojo was adjudged to be holding Harry Maguire in the area.
Tom Huddlestone, who previously won the League Cup with Tottenham Hotspur, broke the deadlock with an emphatic spot-kick.
Jose Mourinho brought on Paul Pogba in the second half and the world-record signing levelled the semi-final clash with a close-range finish in the 67th minute before Oumar Niasse restored Hull’s lead.
Southampton legend Le Tissier is excited about the prospect of facing Manchester United in the final.
