Frank Lampard’s response when asked whether Chelsea will win title regardless of Liverpool result

The former Chelsea midfielder gives prediction about his former club's chances in the title race this season

Frank Lampard says he doesn’t expect Chelsea to be caught in the title race regardless of their result against Liverpool at Anfield on Tuesday night.

The Blues are sitting at the top of the Premier League table and eight points clear of their closest rivals Arsenal with 16 games to play in the title race.

Chelsea have managed to respond to a 2-0 loss at title rivals Tottenham Hotspur earlier this month with back-to-back victories over Hull and Leicester City.

Liverpool have fallen off the pace in the title race in recent weeks which has devalued Tuesday night’s clash as Jurgen Klopp’s fight to remain in the top four.

Speaking to Jamie Carragher in an interview The Daily Mail ahead of Tuesday night’s clash, Lampard was asked whether Chelsea would be caught in the title race.

“I can’t see anyone catching them. They are the most organised team. [Diego] Costa and [Eden] Hazard are the difference. You have got to give the manager [Antonio Conte] a load of credit, too,” Lampard said.
