Gary Lineker reacts to Marcus Rashford’s performance in Man United’s 2-0 win at West Ham
The Tottenham legend has high hopes for Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford
Gary Lineker singled out Marcus Rashford for special praise after the Manchester United substitute inspired Jose Mourinho’s men to a 2-0 win at West Ham United on Tuesday evening.
The Hammers suffered an early blow after Sofiane Feghouli was sent off for a reckless challenge to hand the advantage to the Red Devils on their first visit to the London Stadium.
Mourinho brought on Juan Mata at half-time before the Manchester United boss turned to Rashford in the 56th minute to help turn the Premier League game in the visitors’s favour.
And the 21-year-old provided the spark that Manchester United required to make the breakthrough within eight minutes of his introduction after the striker beat two West Ham defenders and crossed for fellow substitute Mata.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic doubled the away side’s lead with 12 minutes remaining as Manchester United won their sixth successive Premier League win.
England and Tottenham legend Lineker took to Twitter to heap praise on the Manchester United striker.
Marcus Rashford is a delightful footballer and if he avoids any rotten luck with injury, he'll be a star.
