Gary Neville discusses the transfer situation regarding key Arsenal duo
Gary Neville gives his thoughts on the futures of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez at Arsenal beyond 2018
Gary Neville admits that the uncertainty about Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez’s futures at Arsenal could end up causing problems at The Emirates.
The pair are both thought to be in discussions with the north London side about the possibility of extending their current deals with the Gunners beyond the summer of 2018.
There is yet to be an official announcement from the club about the pair but the duo’s situation has been a recurring topic in the headlines in recent months.
It remains to be seen whether the duo will commit their long-term futures to the club but Neville feels that Arsene Wenger is dealing with the situation the best way he knows how.
Speaking to his Sky Sports podcast, Neville said: “The Ozil-Sanchez thing is grumbling on. It creates more doubt in terms of whether there is more to it.
“At the moment I’ll live with what Arsene Wenger [is doing] because of the type of players and the mentality of the players from the area of the world that they come from.”
Arsenal are currently in fourth place in the Premier League table after their 4-0 win over Swansea at the weekend.
The north London side trail leaders Chelsea by eight points.
