Gary Neville draws positives for Man United under Jose Mourinho
Gary Neville says there are plenty of reasons to be positive for Manchester United after their 1-1 draw with Liverpool
Gary Neville has praised Manchester United for showing the fighting spirit to come from a goal down to earn a draw with Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday.
The Red Devils fell behind to James Milner’s penalty in the first half at Old Trafford but battled their way back into the game and earned a point when Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored a late equaliser for Jose Mourinho’s men.
The draw was a disappointing result for Manchester United, who now trail Premier League leaders Chelsea by 12 points as their title hopes continue to fade.
However, Neville feels that the Red Devils should take the positives from the fact that they have made themselves hard to beat under Jose Mourinho in recent weeks.
Speaking to Sky Sports after Manchester United’s draw with Liverpool, Neville said: “I think they’re on the right track.
“It looks more like a Manchester United team even though they haven’t played well [today]. They got something out of the game which is important.
“They came back into the game late on. The start of the season they were poor, but they’re on a run, they’re difficult to beat and that’s the first rule of any team. You want to be difficult to beat. They are difficult to beat. They don’t roll over.”
Manchester United are now gearing up for their Premier League clash against Stoke City on Saturday afternoon.
