Gary Neville poses question about Man United ahead of Liverpool clash
Gary Neville says Manchester United will have to be at their best to cope with the "mobility" of Liverpool on Sunday
Gary Neville has admitted that Manchester United will have to be at their best if they want to keep Liverpool at bay due to the Reds’ superior mobility in Sunday’s crunch clash at Old Trafford.
Manchester United head into the game as the favourites to win the match after having won their last six games on the spin in the Premier League.
Liverpool have stuttered in recent weeks and were held to a 2-2 draw by Sunderland last time out but are still five points ahead of Jose Mourinho’s men heading into Sunday’s showdown.
The Reds have earned plenty of new admirers for their attacking style of play this season under Jurgen Klopp as they look to improve significantly on their eighth-placed finish last season.
And Neville believes that Manchester United will have to be at their best to keep Liverpool at bay at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, Neville said: “United have to handle the mobility of Liverpool who are undoubtedly more mobile and have more speed in their combinations around the pitch.
“Can United handle the speed of Liverpool?
“Can Liverpool handle the strength and robustness of Pogba and Ibrahimovic?
“It’s a game of two different styles and I think it will be fascinating to see who will have the mentality to go and win it.”
Manchester United finished fifth and won the FA Cup under Louis van Gaal last season.
