Gary Neville reacts to Liverpool’s 2-2 draw at Sunderland on Twitter
Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville got it wrong for once after his Twitter prediction
Gary Neville was left red-faced following Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with Sunderland after the Manchester United legend incorrectly predicted that Jurgen Klopp’s side would win at half-time on Tuesday.
Liverpool made their first-half pressure count when Daniel Sturridge scored his second Premier League goal of the season with a close-range finish to edge the Merseyside outfit towards a fifth successive top-flight win.
However, Ragnar Klavan was penalised for a foul on Didier Ndong and Jermain Defoe made no mistake from the penalty spot to leave the Premier League clash level at 1-1 at half-time at the Stadium of Light.
Responding to a frustrated tweet from Jamie Carragher, Neville assured the Liverpool legend that Klopp’s side would get the job done against the Black Cats.
Your team will win. They are playing too well to drop points today!! https://t.co/8UKGMeXfnv

However, the Sky Sports pundit was ultimately proven wrong despite Sadio Mane edging Liverpool into a 2-1 lead with 18 minutes remaining after the African conceded a late penalty.
Defoe made no mistake from the spot to leave Liverpool five points behind leaders Chelsea ahead of the Blues’s trip to Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night.
