Gary Neville reacts to Marcus Rashford’s display in Man United’s 2-0 win at West Ham

Gary Neville picked Marcus Rashford as his man of the match in Manchester United's 2-0 win over West Ham

Gary Neville singled out Marcus Rashford for special praise after the Manchester United striker came off the bench to help inspire the Red Devils to a 2-0 win at West Ham United on Monday night.

West Ham United were reduced to 10 men early on when Sofiane Feghouli was controversially shown a straight red card for a tackle on Phil Jones.

With the score level at 0-0 at half-time, Mourinho opted to introduce Juan Mata at the break, before also bringing on Rashford shortly after.

The move paid dividends, as Rashford set up the Spaniard for Manchester United’s opener at the London Stadium.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic then added a second in the 78th minute despite the veteran striker appearing to be offside.

Neville picked Rashford as his man of the match for his cameo display and explained his decision live on Sky Sports.

Neville said: “I’m going to give it [man of the match] to Rashford.

“He’s influenced the outcome of the match more than any other Manchester United player.

“Since he came on he turned West Ham, he set up the first goal and has been a big influence.”
