Gary Neville replies when asked if Man United can beat Chelsea to the title
Gary Neville comments on Manchester United's hopes for the season after their win over West Ham
Gary Neville has admitted that he still thinks that Manchester United have been left with too much to do in the Premier League title race this season, despite their recent fine form.
The Red Devils notched up their sixth straight win in a row on Monday night when they secured a 2-0 win over West Ham United at the London Stadium in the top flight.
That result left Manchester United 10 points behind Premier League leaders Chelsea before the Blues travel to Tottenham on Wednesday night.
Manchester United’s main focus will be getting back into the top four but their recent good form has prompted suggestions that they could claw their way back into the title race.
However, although Neville has been impressed by what he’s seen from the Red Devils this season, he feels that they are probably already out of the title race.
Speaking on Sky Sports after Monday’s win, Neville said: “They’ve probably left themselves with too much to do.
“The next league game is a really big one – at home against Liverpool. I think that game will really determine where Manchester United are at for the rest of this season.
“If they win that match then you would see them as dangerous because they are on the up.”
