Graeme Souness issues warning to Tottenham midfielder: Don’t stop learning
The former Liverpool midfielder Graeme Souness is a big of Tottenham star Dele Alli
Graeme Souness believe the only thing that will stop Dele Alli from becoming a top player will be if the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder loses his desire to learn.
The England international enjoyed a whirlwind first season in the Premier League after Tottenham signed Alli in a £5m deal from League One side MK Dons ahead of the 2015-16 season.
Alli scored 10 times in 33 appearances in the Premier League and was named the PFA young player of his year following the playmaker’s eye-catching performances in the Spurs side.
The 20-year-old has continued his excellent form in the current campaign after the midfielder scored five times in three Premier League games before the visit of Chelsea on Wednesday night.
And Alli scored either side of half-time at White Hart Lane to help Tottenham ease to a 2-0 victory over Premier League leaders Chelsea.
Former Liverpool and Tottenham midfielder Souness issued a warning to Alli after the Spurs playmaker’s dominant performance against Chelsea.
“The only thing that will stop him is if he stops learning, if he stops wanting to learn,” Souness told Sky Sports.
“The boy’s got everything. He runs forward without the ball and teams don’t like to play against that. Every time we watch this boy play we end up talking like this about him.
“The sky’s the limit for him, as long as the right people around him are giving him the right information. He’s destined to be a superstar.”
