Harry Kane doesn’t expect any stupid Tottenham transfers
The Tottenham striker insists any of his team-mates would be stupid to leave in January with Spurs on the cusp of something special
Harry Kane believes his Tottenham Hotspur team-mates would be stupid to consider leaving White Hart Lane in January with Spurs on the cusp of winning trophies.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side came from 2-0 down to rescue a 2-2 draw with title rivals Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday evening thanks to goals from Dele Alli and Son Heung-min.
Tottenham dropped to third place in the Premier League table following their stalemate in Manchester and Mauricio Pochettino’s side are eight points adrift of current leaders Chelsea.
However, Spurs can take encouragement from their 2-0 win against Chelsea at White Hart Lane earlier this month when Alli scored either side of half-time in the London derby.
Tottenham striker Kane has explained why he would be surprised if any of his team-mate decided to leave White Hart Lane in the January transfer window.
“I would be surprised if any of my team-mates were to leave now,” Kane told Gazzetta dello Sport as reported by The Daily Mail.
“Something’s going on here, we’re just missing the last step: to win trophies.
“It would be stupid to leave now. We have one of the best managers in the world, perhaps the best. Soon there will be a new stadium. The future is promising.”
Tottenham finished in third place in the Premier League table last season and 11 points behind surprise champions Leicester City but a point adrift of Arsenal.
