Harry Redknapp names Tottenham’s only weakness

The former Tottenham manager is worried Spurs could struggle if Harry Kane picks up an injury

Harry Redknapp believes Tottenham Hotspur’s only weakness is a lack of cover for striker Harry Kane.

The north London side have emerged as Chelsea’s biggest rivals for the Premier League title this season after an impressive run of results under Mauricio Pochettino in recent weeks.

Tottenham’s six-game winning run came to an end on Saturday evening after a 2-2 draw with title rivals Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

However, Spurs did manage to fight back from 2-0 down to rescue a point thanks to goals from Dele Alli and Son Heung-min.

The Lilywhites haven’t lost a Premier League game since a 2-1 defeat by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in November.

Speaking to BT Sport after Tottenham’s 2-2 draw with Manchester City on Saturday evening, Redknapp highlighted the one area that Pochettino needs to strengthen.

“The only problem is if they get an injury to Harry Kane,” Redknapp said.

“Other than that, they’ve got good cover everywhere. They’ve got cover at full-back, centre-half, midfield.

“It’s just that Harry is so important with the way he leads the line and his goals.

“If he gets injured, they’ve got a problem there.”

Tottenham are in second place in the Premier League table as Pochettino looks to guide Spurs to a first-ever top-flight crown.
