Marcus Rashford states confident prediction for Hull City v Man United
The Manchester United striker expects Jose Mourinho's side to get the job done and reach the EFL Cup final
Marcus Rashford is confident that Manchester United can get the job done and reach the EFL Cup final courtesy of a victory over Hull City on Thursday night.
The Red Devils were 2-0 winners against the Tigers at Old Trafford in the first leg of their EFL Cup semi-final earlier this month.
Juan Mata and Marouane Fellaini scored second-half goals in the first leg as Rashford was credited with inspiring Manchester United to a narrow win.
The teenager has a good record against the Tigers after the centre-forward came off the bench to score a late winner in a 1-0 win at Hull in the Premier League in August.
Speaking to Manchester United’s website, Rashford backed his team-mates to ease past Hull and book their place in the EFL Cup final at Wembley.
“I do think that’s the biggest thing that we’ve got to try to do,” Rashford told MUTV.
“Leave the last game behind us because it’s done. We’re going to face new challenges when we play against them at Hull. They will have the home fans behind them and are going to be raring to go so I think it’s important we keep our focus.
“I think if a goal goes for or against us, we must keep the same mentality – to go out there to win every game. I think if we concentrate on our own focus, then I’m confident we’ll get the job done.”
The winner of the second last-four clash will take on Southampton in the EFL Cup final at Wembley.
Manchester United are in sixth place in the Premier League table.
