Pundit: Why this player will score in Hull v Man United
Charlie Nicholas is backing Marcus Rashford to score for Manchester United against Hull City on Thursday night
Charlie Nicholas is backing Marcus Rashford to seize his chance to impress in the Manchester United side if the striker starts against Hull City in the second leg of their EFL Cup semi-final on Thursday night.
The England international has found his first-team opportunities limited this season following the appointment of Jose Mourinho as Louis van Gaal successor in the summer.
Rashford broke into the Manchester United first-team under the Dutch coach last term and scored two goals in his Premier League debut to help the Red Devils ease to a 4-2 win against Arsenal at Old Trafford.
The teenager finished with a respectable return of eight goals in 18 appearances in all competitions to earn the England striker a call-up to Roy Hodgson’s squad for the European championship in France last summer.
However, Rashford has only started eight Premier League games in the 2016-17 campaign, with a return of three goals.
Former Arsenal midfielder Nicholas is tipping Rashford to get a chance to shine in the second leg of their EFL Cup semi-final at Hull and is backing the teenager to find the back of the net.
“I’ve got a feeling Mourinho will make a few changes and I think this could be a good night for Marcus Rashford to turn up,” Nicholas told Sky Sports.
