Ian Wright makes honest admission about Tottenham’s title hopes

Ian Wright delivers his honest verdict on Tottenham's Premier League title hopes this season

Ian Wright believes that Tottenham still have what it takes to win the Premier League title this season.

The Lilywhites fell a further two points behind leaders Chelsea last weekend when they were forced to come from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw against Manchester City on Saturday night.

That result left Mauricio Pochettino’s men in third place in the Premier League table and nine points behind leaders Chelsea.

Spurs are aiming to go one better than last season, when they challenged Leicester for most of the campaign but eventually ended up third in the table.

But despite the disappointment of Tottenham’s 2-2 draw with City on Saturday, Wright feels that the Lilywhites are more than capable of winning the title this season.

Speaking to BBC Radio Five Live’s 606 show, Wright said: “You can’t ignore the mental strength of this Tottenham team.

“Tottenham are going to try and win this league – make no mistake about it.

“They are trying. They believe they have got a chance. You can see it in the way that they’re playing.”
