Ian Wright names the perfect club for Liverpool striker
The former Arsenal striker suggests that Liverpool star Daniel Sturridge should move to PSG
Ian Wright believes Daniel Sturridge would be a perfect signing for Paris Saint-Germain if the Liverpool striker continues to struggle at Anfield.
The England international has failed to tie down a regular starting spot in the Liverpool side under Jurgen Klopp this season as the Reds boss continues to prefer Divock Origi or Roberto Firmino in a centre-forward role.
Sturridge was handed a starting spot for Liverpool’s 1-0 win against League Two side Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup third-round replay at Home Park on Wednesday night thanks to Lucas Leiva’s headed winner.
The 27-year-old was taken off in the second half after failing to make an impact in the cup clash as Liverpool set up a fourth-round meeting with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Sturridge has scored two goals in 12 games in the current Premier League campaign, although the England striker has only started five games this term.
Speaking to The Sun Goals podcast, Wright hinted that Sturridge could thrive at Ligue 1 giants PSG.
“I’m not sure what’s going to happen with his future at Liverpool. I’m not sure he fits into how Klopp wants to play and is going to continue to play,” Wright said.
“The high intensity football. Daniel Sturridge plays at his own pace. That’s where I see him now.”
