Ian Wright suggests Liverpool striker should move to PSG

The former Arsenal striker hints that a move to PSG could do Daniel Sturridge good

Ian Wright believes Liverpool starr Daniel Sturridge could benefit from a transfer, suggesting a move to Paris Saint-Germain could be good for the striker.

The England international has fallen down the pecking order at the Anfield outfit under Jurgen Klopp after an injury-hit couple of seasons at Liverpool.

Sturridge has scored two goals in 12 games in the Premier League this term, although seven of those appearances have come from the bench.

The Daily Mail reported that Paris Saint-Germain were interested in the England striker last year but a move failed to materialise last summer.

Sturridge has failed to break into the Liverpool team ahead of Brazilian forward Roberto Firmino, while Divock Origi was preferred to the former Chelsea man for a number of Premier League fixtures of the festive period.

Speaking to The Sun goals podcast, Wright hinted that Sturridge should consider a move if the England striker wants to kick-start his career, adding that the centre-forward is no longer a key player under Klopp.

“He should go somewhere else to revitalise himself. I’m not sure if that will happen in this country. He’s been at all the top teams but Arsenal,” Wright said.

“You look at it and think somewhere like PSG that he might look at. I think he is fantastic. He is a super player. It isn’t going to happen for him at Liverpool.”

Sturridge moved to Liverpool in a £12m deal from Chelsea in the 2013 January transfer window under Klopp’s predecessor Brendan Rodgers.
