Insider claims five clubs want Man United defender but Jose Mourinho won’t sanction transfer

Five clubs want to sign Timothy Fosu-Mensah on loan from Manchester United, according to a BBC Sport reporter

Timothy Fosu-Mensah is attracting interest from five clubs but Jose Mourinho doesn’t want the Manchester United defender to leave Old Trafford, according to a BBC Sport reporter.

Simon Stone, who covered Manchester United’s 2-1 loss to promoted side Hull City on Thursday night, has taken to Twitter to provide an update on the promising Netherlands defender.

Fosu-Mensah has struggled to break into the Manchester United first-team under Mourinho this season despite the full-back emerging as an exciting talent last season.

Louis van Gaal gave the Dutch defender a chance to shine in the Manchester United side despite his inexperience in the Premier League.

According to BBC Sport reporter Stone, Fosu-Mensah is unsurprisingly attracting interest from a host of different clubs in the January transfer window.

Stone tweeted:

Fosu-Mensah has made one substitute appearance in the 2016-17 Premier League campaign.

The 19-year-old racked up 10 games in all competitions under Mourinho’s predecessor Van Gaal last term.

Manchester United are in sixth place in the table.
