Insider claims Tottenham midfielder won’t move to Real Madrid
Guillem Balague delivers his verdict on reports linking Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli with a move to Real Madrid
Guillem Balague has poured cold water on talk of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli moving to Real Madrid in the January transfer window.
The Daily Mirror are reporting that Barcelona and Real Madrid are involved in a battle to sign the England international following Alli’s impressive performances.
The 20-year-old scored either side of half-time in Tottenham’s 2-0 win against Premier League leaders Chelsea at White Hart Lane on Wednesday night.
Alli has scored five times in his last three Premier League games to help Spurs extend their winning run to five games in the English top flight.
The Tottenham midfielder has scored 10 times in 20 appearances in the Premier League in the current campaign to underline his rising star.
However, Sky Sports reporter and La Liga expert Balague explained why he doesn’t expect Alli to complete a move to Real Madrid in January.
“I don’t think it’s a priority for Real Madrid – not yet. Is everybody looking out for him? What he is doing is extraordinary,” Balague told Sky Sports News HQ.
“Being a no10 that is the kind of player that can succeed in Spain, he is someone to look out for. What I am seeing at the moment is everyone who plays under Mauricio Pochettino wants to stay. I can’t see that happening at the moment.”
Alli was named the PFA young player of the year for his impressive performances in Mauricio Pochettino’s side last term.
