Insider warns Chelsea and Man United about losing these two players to rival
Guillem Balague warns that Man United's David De Gea and Chelsea's Thibaut Courtois are targets for Real Madrid
Guillem Balague has warned that Real Madrid will target Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and Manchester United shot stopper David De Gea in the summer transfer window.
Chelsea’s Belgium international has established himself as one of the Premier League’s top-performing goalkeepers this term after keeping an impressive 13 clean sheets in 21 games so far.
Courtois’s closest rival in terms of shutout is Southampton shot stopper Fraser Forster on eight, which highlights the west London side’s imperious defence this term.
De Gea and Manchester United have the third-best defensive record behind Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur as the Spain international continues to impress despite the change of management.
The 25-year-old was on the brink of a move to Real Madrid in the 2015 summer transfer window before the move fell through on La Liga’s transfer deadline day.
Asked whether Courtois could be heading to Real Madrid during a Q&A session with Sky Sports on Friday afternoon, Balague replied:
“Real Madrid are not impressed with Keylor Navas. They will approach both Thibaut Courtois and David de Gea, which doesn’t mean they will get them, but the approach will arrive.”
Chelsea are 14 points clear of Manchester United in the title race.
