Jamie Carragher issues blunt warning to Jurgen Klopp over Liverpool targets

Jamie Carragher has warned Jurgen Klopp that Liverpool risk missing out on a top-four finish and the FA Cup unless their is a dramatic upturn in form.
The Reds produced a sloppy performance in a 1-0 loss to Southampton in the second leg of their EFL Cup semi-final clash at Anfield on Wednesday night after Shane Long scored a late goal to seal a 2-0 aggregate win.
Liverpool suffered a surprise 3-2 loss to Swansea City in the Premier League at the weekend after Gylfi Sigurdsson scored a 74th-minute winner for the relegation candidates condemned the Reds to a third league game without a win.
Klopp’s side are in fourth place in the Premier League table but the Reds are now 10 points adrift of current leaders Chelsea after seeing their title bid evaporate since a 1-0 win against Manchester City on New Year’s Eve.
Speaking to talkSPORT about Liverpool’s disappointing League Cup performance, Carragher had a stark warning for Reds boss Klopp.
“If Liverpool continue like this, everything will go out the window – the FA Cup, the top four challenge,” Carragher said.
“The way they play and the way they train is so intense – they don’t go through the motions in training and at times they train twice a day, which is something you normally just do in pre-season.
“So, with no winter break, it’s going to be interesting to see how Klopp deals with this now because there’s still the second half of the season to go.”
