Jamie Carragher: Keeping this Man United star quiet is key for Liverpool
Jamie Carragher discusses the threat posed by Zlatan Ibrahimovic against Liverpool on Sunday
Jamie Carragher believes that Liverpool will have to focus on keeping Zlatan Ibrahimovic quiet when the Reds travel to Manchester United on Sunday.
Ibrahimovic has been one of the Premier League’s most consistent strikers since his arrival at the club on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain last summer.
Despite approaching the end of his career, Ibrahimovic has been a regular fixture in the Manchester United team and has scored 13 goals and made three assists in the Premier League for the Red Devils.
The striker missed Manchester United’s 4-0 win over Reading in the FA Cup last weekend due to illness but is expected to return to the line-up against Liverpool on Sunday.
And Carragher feels that the Swedish striker will be one of Manchester United’s key threats heading into the game at Old Trafford.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Carragher said: “A lot depends on how Liverpool deal with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is playing as well as anyone in the Premier League right now.
“He has been scoring goals and Liverpool continue to concede them, so that is a vital area.”
Manchester United head into the clash having won their last six games in a row in the Premier League.
