Jamie Carragher looks ahead to Manchester United's crunch clash with Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday
Jamie Carragher has claimed that Manchester United are the most in-form team in the Premier League as they prepare for their crunch clash against Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday.
The Red Devils head into the game having won their last six games on the spin in the top flight and know that victory on Sunday would close the gap to the Reds down to just two points.
Liverpool have been in good form this season but have stuttered in recent weeks and were held to a 2-2 draw by Sunderland last week before losing 1-0 to Southampton in the first leg of their EFL Cup semi-final clash.
Manchester United have been much improved in recent weeks after a stuttering start to the season under new boss Jose Mourinho.
And Carragher feels that Liverpool will have their work cut out in trying to stop the Red Devils at Old Trafford this weekend.
Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, Carragher said: “This is always a huge game, but right now these are two teams who have maybe got outside chances for the title and are both right in the mix for top-four places.
“Manchester United are probably the most in-form team in the Premier League and are a different proposition to when the two sides met at Anfield earlier this season, while Liverpool have hit a little bump in the road and need to get back on track.
“Both teams have plenty to play for.”
Manchester United finished fifth and won the FA Cup last season, while Liverpool ended up eighth and without a trophy,
