Jamie Carragher reacts to Liverpool’s latest setback on Twitter
The former Liverpool defender wasn't having a good 39th birthday
Jamie Carragher struck a demoralised figure on Twitter as Liverpool crashed out of the FA Cup on the ex defender’s 39th birthday.
The Merseyside outfit suffered a shock 2-1 loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the fourth round of the FA Cup despite having home advantage at Anfield.
Liverpool made a disastrous start after Paul Lambert’s Wolves side scored inside the opening minute through Richard Stearman before Austria international Andreas Weimann doubled the visitors’ lead four minutes before half-time.
Klopp started most of his second string for the visit of the Championship side, although Brazil international Roberto Firmino and Belgium striker Divock Origi were named his XI.
With Liverpool trailing 2-0, Klopp was forced to bring on Philippe Coutinho, Daniel Sturridge and Emre Can in search of a way back into the game and Origi halved the deficit with five minutes remaining.
Unlike many Liverpool supporters, Carragher was spared the misery of watching the disappointing performance on his 39th birthday – or at lease he claimed to have missed the upset.
