Jose Mourinho drops hint about Man United team for EFL Cup clash
Jose Mourinho suggests that he will play a full-strength Manchester United team against Hull City
Jose Mourinho has hinted that he will play a full-strength Manchester United team when the Red Devils take on Hull City in the first leg of their EFL Cup semi-final clash on Tuesday night.
The Red Devils are preparing to welcome the Tigers to Old Trafford as they look to take a step closer towards booking their place in the Wembley final.
Manchester United head into the game fresh from having secured their spot in the fourth round of the FA Cup thanks to their 4-0 demolition of Reading at Old Trafford.
Mourinho opted to rest a number of players, including Zlatan Ibrahimovic, for Saturday’s game.
The Red Devils also have a crunch clash against Liverpool in the Premier League at Old Trafford looming next weekend.
But the Portuguese coach has hinted that he will restore Manchester United’s top stars to the starting line-up for Tuesday’s semi-final clash.
Speaking to MUTV after Saturday’s victory, Mourinho said: “Hull face a semi-final, also a big occasion for them, and I don’t know maybe for them, it’s more important the match they have to play three or four days later in the Premier League [against Bournemouth].
“We play against Liverpool, a big match for us, but we want to be in the final.
“So we are going to face this Hull match with everything we have, all the power we have, as we know it’s two legs but the second leg is away.
“If we can do something in the first leg that gives us the advantage, so we will try to do that.”
