Jose Mourinho provides latest Man United transfer update on midfield duo
The Manchester United manager confirms that the Red Devils are open to offer for Memphis Depay and Morgan Schneiderlin
Jose Mourinho insists he is willing to sell Memphis Depay and Morgan Schneiderlin if Manchester United receive the right offers for the midfield pair.
The France international has been heavily linked with a move to Everton in the January transfer window but the Toffees are believed to have had a bid rejected for the defensive midfielder.
The 27-year-old moved to the Red Devils in a £25m deal from Southampton in the 2015 summer transfer window under Louis van Gaal but has fallen out-of-favour under Mourinho this term.
Memphis has also been linked with a switch to Goodison Park after Everton manager Ronald Koeman discussed the Netherlands international’s qualities in an interview earlier this season.
Speaking at his media conference at Carrington training ground on Friday ahead of Manchester United’s clash against Reading in the FA Cup on Saturday, Mourinho provided a transfer update on Memphis and Schneiderlin.
“I will allow both of them to leave – if the right offer comes. Until this moment, no,” said Mourinho.
“We don’t have any offer that is close to the quality of the players we have.”
Manchester United finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last season.
