Jose Mourinho sends message to Man United fans ahead of Liverpool clash

Jose Mourinho wants to see the best from the Manchester United fans ahead of Sunday's clash with Liverpool

Jose Mourinho has challenged Manchester United’s supporters to get fully behind the Red Devils in Sunday’s Premier League showdown with Liverpool at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils head into the game looking to continue their fine form in the Premier League in recent weeks.

After a shaky start to the season, Manchester United have begun to produce some improved displays under their new manager and have won their last six games in the Premier League.

The Red Devils are sixth in the table but know that a win over Liverpool would cut the gap to Liverpool all the way down to just two points.

And Mourinho has challenged Manchester United’s fans to be at their best when they welcome the Reds to Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

Speaking in an interview with Manchester United’s website after the Red Devils’ 2-0 EFL Cup win over Hull City at Old Trafford, Mourinho said: “We have amazing fans, I can only say fantastic things about them especially because you see the real fans when the moments are not good.

“When that has happened, we’ve had amazing fans behind us, pushing us and supporting us.

“So we have absolutely amazing fans, but what I feel is that Sunday is a special match for us and a special match for the Manchester United fans so my invitation is don’t come to the theatre, come to play and come to play with us.”
