Jose Mourinho: This is how I’ve found Memphis Depay to be at Man United

Jose Mourinho says Memphis Depay has always been professional at Manchester United this season

Jose Mourinho has insisted that Memphis Depay has always conducted himself in a professional manner at Manchester United this season.

The Netherlands international’s future has been a source of speculation in recent weeks due to his lack of playing time at Manchester United under Mourinho this term.

Indeed, Depay has only made one start in all competitions for the Red Devils this term under Mourinho.

The Dutch winger joined Manchester United amid much fanfare back in May 2015 as one of Louis van Gaal’s signings but has failed to establish himself as a regular fixture in the Red Devils side.

It remains to be seen whether Depay will secure a transfer away from Manchester United in the January transfer window.

However, Mourinho has insisted that he has always been pleased by Depay’s professional attitude at Manchester United this season.

Mourinho is quoted as saying by Sky Sports: “He was not playing last season.

“It was not that last season he was playing phenomenally and this season he is not playing at all. That’s not the situation.

“He’s a very good professional, is the only thing I can say. I know the public image is always influenced by some details of their private lives but the reality is that he is a very good professional, a very good boy.

“He has a high level of education, super polite, super professional, and works really hard.”
