Jose Mourinho: This is what I told Marcus Rashford at Man United
Jose Mourinho reveals his half-time chat with Marcus Rashford during Manchester United's win over Reading
Jose Mourinho has lifted the lid on his half-time conversation with Marcus Rashford during Manchester United’s 4-0 win over Reading in the FA Cup on Saturday.
The England youngster featured from the start for the Red Devils as Manchester United secured an impressive win over the Championship side to book their place in the fourth round of the cup competition.
After Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial had given Manchester United the lead in the first half at Old Trafford, Rashford scored twice after half-time to cement the victory.
And Mourinho has revealed what he said to Rashford at half-time during the FA Cup third-round clash.
Mourinho told MUTV: “I spoke to him at half-time and I told him that I don’t care about the goals he missed in the first half.
“He had a big responsibility in the way we were breaking down their defensive line, he was playing so well for us so one less goal doesn’t change it for an attacking player.”
Rashford will be hoping to feature when Manchester United take on Hull City in the first leg of their EFL Cup semi-final clash at Old Trafford on Tuesday night.
The Red Devils have now won their last eight games in all competitions under Jose Mourinho, their best run since Sir Alex Ferguson was in charge back in 2009.
