Jose Mourinho: This Man United player is the best in the world

Jose Mourinho claims Antonio Valencia is the best right-back in the world following his new deal at Manchester United

Jose Mourinho has claimed that Antonio Valencia is the best right-back in the world after the Ecuador international extended his stay at Manchester United last week.

The defender signed a new deal with the Red Devils last week to keep him at Old Trafford until the summer of 2018 following his impressive performances for Manchester United under Mourinho.

Valencia has scored 21 goals and won six trophies with Manchester United.

And Mourinho believes that Manchester United are extremely lucky to have Valencia at the club.

Speaking to MUTV before Saturday’s trip to Stoke, Red Devils boss Mourinho said: “I just think he is the best right-back you can have.

“There is no better right-back in football. It is just for us to keep the best. I don’t think it is a reward. It is a privilege for us to have such a good player and such a good man.”

Manchester United are looking to break back into the top four this season after the Red Devils ended up in fifth place in the Premier League last term under Louis van Gaal.
