Jurgen Klopp gives verdict on Liverpool’s position in title race ahead of Man United clash
The Liverpool manager is happy with their position in the title race with 18 games to go
Jurgen Klopp says Liverpool are in a pretty good position in the Premier League title race ahead of their trip to Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.
The Reds boss will be hoping that his Liverpool side can make a return to winning ways against their bitter rivals at Old Trafford after a 2-2 draw with Sunderland at the Stadium of Light last time out.
Liverpool have still managed to collect a credible 13 points from their last five Premier League outings but a 0-0 draw with Plymouth and a 1-0 loss to Southampton has disrupted their momentum ahead of their return to top-flight action.
The 18-time English champions start the weekend in second place and five points adrift of leaders Chelsea, and speaking during a Facebook Live interview with Sky Sports on Friday afternoon, Klopp gave his verdict on Liverpool’s position in the title race.
“If you are second in the table that should be a pretty good position nearly always in life especially when you have a lot of games to go,” Klopp said.
“So that’s all ok. We are still in all competitions even if people would like us to be a little bit further, especially in the FA Cup.
“So it’s all good and we feel good. It’s intense.”
Klopp’s Liverpool side drew 0-0 with Manchester United at Anfield in their Premier League meeting earlier this season.
