Jurgen Klopp identifies two Liverpool targets in January window – report
Liverpool want to sign Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Gabriel Barbosa in the January transfer window, say reports
Jurgen Klopp has made Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Inter Milan forward Gabriel Barbosa his top two targets in the January transfer window, according to reports in the media.
Bild – as quoted by Metro – are claiming that the Liverpool manager has made the England international and Brazil striker his priority targets this month as Klopp looks to bolster his options at Anfield.
The same article states that Arsenal could be unwilling to allow the 23-year-old attacking midfielder to leave to a direct rival for the Premier League title ahead of the second half of the season.
Oxlade-Chamberlain has struggled to tie down a regular starting spot in Arsene Wenger’s first team once again this season, scoring two goals and making four assists in eight starts and nine substitute appearances.
The same story reports that Klopp is interested in Inter forward Barbosa after the Brazilian’s difficult start to life at the San Siro outfit.
Of course, Liverpool rescued Philippe Coutinho from Inter in an £8.5m deal in the 2013 January transfer window, with the midfielder blossoming into one of the Reds’s most-important players.
