Jurgen Klopp opens up about possibility of Liverpool making January signing

The Liverpool manager has a cryptic update on talk of January signings at Anfield

Jurgen Klopp has delivered a cryptic update on the possibility of Liverpool making some signings in the January transfer window.

The Merseyside outfit suffered a surprise 2-1 defeat by Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers in the FA Cup fourth round in Saturday’s early kick-off.

Liverpool have made a dreadful start to 2017 so far after a run of one win in eight games in all competitions to leave Klopp’s side 10 points off the pace in the title race.

The Reds are facing a tough game against Premier League leaders Chelsea in their next top-flight fixture at Anfield on Tuesday night.

Speaking to his post-match media conference after Liverpool’s 2-1 loss to Paul Lambert’s Wolves side, Klopp addressed the topic of potential transfers:

“We spoke about the transfer window – it’s not about not wanting, it’s about not getting the right players. For this, we have to go through situations like this.”

Liverpool signed seven players in the summer transfer window last year after Klopp looked to transform the Reds squad that he inherited from Brendan Rodgers.
