The veteran defender has found his first-team opportunities to be somewhat limited this season but he returned to the starting line-up for Sunday’s 4-1 win over Peterborough.
Terry has been limited to just eight appearances in all competitions this season as the defender struggled for form and fitness under new boss Antonio Conte.
Zouma made his return to the Chelsea team on Sunday after a lengthy lay-off due to a serious knee injury.
And the French defender has admitted that Terry is always on hand to offer advice and help the team even if he is not playing.
Zouma is quoted as saying by The Daily Express: “He just keeps going. Ever since I arrived he has always given me good advice on everything; about the position of a striker, about tactics, about everything.
“He has been the man who has led Chelsea for a while and he’s still there, leading the club, the boys. John is the captain, an amazing captain.”
Chelsea travel to Leicester City in the Premier League on Saturday as they look to get back to winning ways following their 2-0 loss to Tottenham last week.
