Lee Dixon reacts Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s display in Arsenal’s 5-0 win at Southampton on Twitter
The former Arsenal defender delivers his verdict on the north London side's emphatic win
Lee Dixon claimed that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s best position is central midfield after the England star impressed in Arsenal’s 5-0 win at Southampton in the FA Cup.
Arsene Wenger handed Welbeck his first start of the 2016-17 season for the trip to the EFL Cup finalists in the FA Cup fifth round.
The former Manchester United striker scored twice inside the opening 22 minutes to put the Gunners in charge.
Welbeck lasted until midway through the second half when Chile international Alexis Sanchez replaced the England man.
Former Southampton striker Theo Walcott scored either side of half-time to extend the north London side’s lead before completing his hat-trick in the 84th minute and booking their place in the fifth round.
Ex-Arsenal defender Dixon took to Twitter to hail Oxlade-Chamberlain’s performance as the Gunners made a positive start to a big week in their season.
Always thought it was his best position. Trouble is he won't get in the side there

Welbeck moved to Arsenal in a £16m deal from Manchester United in the 2015 January transfer window.
The Gunners will host Watford in their next top-flight fixture before the north London club make the trip to leaders Chelsea.
