Jurgen Klopp is keen to sign Spartak Moscow striker Quincy Promes to fill Sadio Mane's void during AFCON, say reports
Liverpool are ready to step up their pursuit of Spartak Moscow forward Quincy Promes, according to reports in the British media.
The People are reporting that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp wants to sign the Netherlands international to help fill the void left by Sadio Mane after the winger headed off to the Africa Cup of Nations last week.
The same article states that the Reds might have to cough up to £25m to sign Promes after the Dutch forward signed a new five-year deal with the Russian club last summer.
The 25-year-old has scored six times and has made six assists in 15 Premier League appearances in the 2016-17 season so far.
Liverpool are in second place in the Premier League table but five points adrift of leaders Chelsea after their 2-2 draw with Sunderland at the Stadium of Light last week.
The Merseyside outfit finished in eighth place in the Premier League table last season which prompted Klopp to sign seven players in the summer transfer window.
