Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard sends title warning to Chelsea
Steven Gerrard says any dropped points by Chelsea would blow the Premier League title race wide open again
Steven Gerrard has warned Chelsea that the title race will be blown wide open if the Blues were to drop some points in the coming weeks.
The Blues have been the Premier League’s standout team so far this season and have won their last 13 games on the spin in the Premier League heading into their showdown with Tottenham at White Hart Lane on Wednesday night.
Antonio Conte’s men have earned plenty of praise for their upturn in form as they look to secure the title they last won back in the 2014-15 season.
However, Liverpool have also been in good form under new boss Jurgen Klopp as the Reds look to keep pace with the Blues heading into the second half of the campaign.
And despite Chelsea’s dominance in recent weeks, Gerrard feels that the Blues could be caught if they endure a stuttering run of results.
Speaking on BT Sport’s Premier League Tonight show on Saturday night, Gerrard said: “Things can change very quickly.
“If Chelsea were to lose one or draw a couple, it’s a wide-open title race again.”
