Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard: What worries me about Man United

Steven Gerrard has his say on Manchester United summer signing Paul Pogba

Steven Gerrard has admitted that Paul Pogba’s brilliant form for Manchester United in recent weeks is a concern for himself and Liverpool fans.

The France midfielder has been adapting to life back at Old Trafford following his world-record transfer to Manchester United from Juventus in the summer transfer window.

Pogba made a slow start to life back at Manchester United but has begun to find his form in recent weeks with some excellent performances for Jose Mourinho’s men.

The 23-year-old scored the winner as Manchester United beat Middlesbrough 2-1 in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon at Old Trafford.

Gerrard rates Pogba highly and says that his potential to be one of the world’s top players should be of concern to Manchester United’s Premier League rivals.

Speaking on BT Sport’s Premier League Tonight show on Saturday, Gerrard said: “He’s only going to get better and better.

“He’s young, he’s got all of the tools in the bag…

“There’s no doubt about it, he’s one of the best midfielders in the world now and he’s going to get better, which is a scary thought being a Liverpool fan.”

Pogba initially left Manchester United to join Juventus back in 2012 after being deemed surplus to requirements at Old Trafford by Sir Alex Ferguson.
