Jurgen Klopp sends message to his players ahead of Liverpool v Chelsea
The Liverpool manager has a message ahead of their clash against Chelsea
Jurgen Klopp is hoping his Liverpool squad can recover from the shock of losing to Wolverhampton Wanderers and bounce back against Chelsea in the Premier League at Anfield on Tuesday night.
The Liverpool boss watched his side struggle against their Championship opponents as Wolves broke the deadlock inside the first minute before Andreas Weimann doubled the visitors’s lead.
The Merseyside outfit brought on Philippe Coutinho, Emre Can and Daniel Sturridge in search of a comeback but Divock Origi could only net a late consolation with five minutes to play.
Liverpool have the chance to make amends on Tuesday night when Jurgen Klopp’s side host Premier League leaders Chelsea in the Premier League.
Speaking at his post-match media conference on Saturday evening after Liverpool’s FA Cup shock, Klopp said:
“Hopefully we all can recover and the crowd can recover and look forward to the game on Tuesday,” Klopp told Sky Sports.
“It is a home game against the leader of the league and we need everyone for the game.”
Liverpool finished in eighth place in the Premier League table last season after Klopp took over the reins from Brendan Rodgers back in October 2015.
The Reds will be hoping to overhaul Chelsea in the title race.
