Antonio Conte states his prediction for Liverpool v Chelsea
Antonio Conte looks ahead to Chelsea's showdown with Liverpool at Anfield on Tuesday night...
Antonio Conte believes that Chelsea’s clash with Liverpool at Anfield on Tuesday night could be set to be a very open game.
The Blues head into the game looking to cement their status as the favourites to win the Premier League title this season and flying high at the top of the table.
Chelsea have been in fine form in recent weeks and are currently eight points clear at the top of the table after their impressive recent form.
Liverpool, meanwhile, have endured a frustrating start to the year and are currently fourth in the table and 10 points behind the leaders after failing to win any of their last three games in the top flight.
Conte is not expecting to see a tactical affair and is instead tipping Tuesday night’s showdown at Anfield to be an entertaining clash.
Speaking to Chelsea’s website before the game, Conte said: “I want my team to try every game to fight to win and also to make the best decisions to adapt for the game.
“Tonight I think Liverpool and Chelsea both want to win the game and we could see an open game, not a tactical game.
“The difficulty is high when you face this type of opponent but these type of games are always important to win because when you face teams with the same level, it is important for the confidence and to take three points from a rival.”
Chelsea finished in 10th place in the Premier League and without a trophy last season.
