Michael Owen states his prediction for Liverpool v Swansea

Michael Owen is tipping Liverpool to ease to victory over Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday

Michael Owen is tipping Liverpool to ease to a comfortable win over Swansea City at Anfield on Saturday lunchtime.

The Reds head into the game fresh from their 1-0 FA Cup replay win over Plymouth Argyle on Wednesday night as they secured their place in the fourth round.

Liverpool are aiming to get back to winning ways in the Premier League, however, after they were pegged back and held to a 1-1 draw by Manchester United at Old Trafford last weekend.

And former Reds striker Owen is not expecting Jurgen Klopp’s men to have any problems in overcoming the Premier League’s basement club on Saturday.

Writing in his column for BetVictor, Owen said: “Swansea have conceded three or more goals in over half their Premier League games so far this season and it is hard to see anything other than a home win for the Reds in the early kick-off.

“With Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal all due to visit Anfield in the Reds next six Premier League games after Saturday, the Reds home form will be pivotal in the race for the title – remember Liverpool still have ten home games to play between now and the end of the season more than any other side in the division.”

Liverpool are looking to at least break back into the top four this season after their eighth-placed finish under Klopp last term.
