Ian Wright states prediction for Liverpool v Swansea

The Arsenal legend is backing Liverpool to ease to a comfortable win against Swansea on Saturday afternoon

Ian Wright is confident that Liverpool will secure victory over Swansea City on Saturday afternoon.

The Reds were 1-0 winners against League Two side Plymouth Argyle on Wednesday night thanks to Lucas Leiva’s first-half winner at Home Park.

Liverpool’s triumph in the third-round replay marked their first win since a 1-0 victory over title rivals Manchester City on New Year’s Eve.

The Reds are unbeaten in their last six Premier League games but have drawn with Sunderland and Manchester United in their two most-recent outings.

Swansea, on the other hand, have lost five of their last six Premier League fixtures to leave them rooted to the bottom of the table.

Speaking to The Sun Goals podcast on Thursday afternoon, former Arsenal striker Wright backed Liverpool to secure three points against the Swans at Anfield in Saturday’s early kick-off.

“You’d have to fancy them [Liverpool against Swansea],” Wright said.

Liverpool finished in eighth place in the Premier League table last season.
