Man City eye surprise move for Arsenal midfielder – report

Manchester City are weighing up a move for on-loan Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere, say reports

Manchester City have contacted Arsenal about the availability of midfielder Jack Wilshere, according to reports.

The Daily Mirror are reporting that Everton are interested in the on-loan Bournemouth star as Ronald Koeman looks to improve his struggling midfield in the summer transfer window.

However, the same article states that Manchester City have asked Arsenal to keep them informed of Wilshere’s situation at the Emirates Stadium as the Citizens consider a move for the England international.

Wilshere moved to Bournemouth on a season-long loan from Arsenal last summer after he was deemed surplus to requirement at the north London club following the arrival of Granit Xhaka in a £33m deal from Borussia Monchengladbach.

The 25-year-old has made one assist in 15 appearances in the Premier League for Eddie Howe’s side after his summer switch to the south coast from Arsenal.

Arsenal are in fifth place in the Premier League table and eight points behind leaders Chelsea after a 3-3 draw with Bournemouth in their most-recent top-flight outing.
