Man United could stay unbeaten for rest of season, claims ex-midfielder

Dietmar Hamann says there is plenty more to come from Manchester United this season...

Liverpool legend Dietmar Hamann has suggested that Manchester United could remain unbeaten in the Premier League until the end of the season.

The Red Devils have begun to find their form under new boss Jose Mourinho in recent weeks and have won their last nine games in all competitions under the Portuguese coach.

Manchester United initially struggled to get to grips with life under Mourinho following his appointment in the summer transfer window.

However, the Red Devils have been in improved form in recent weeks and have won their last six Premier League games on the spin ahead of their crunch clash with Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday.

And Liverpool legend Hamman says he would not be surprised to see Manchester United stretch their unbeaten run until the end of the season, given Mourinho’s impressive record during his spells in charge at Chelsea.

Hamann is quoted as saying by Metro: “Once Jose Mourinho’s teams start rolling they’re like a juggernaut – they can be incredibly hard to stop.

“United are unbeaten in 11 league games now – when he was at Chelsea Jose went on an unbeaten league run of 40 games and it wasn’t a one-off. Chelsea had six unbeaten stretches that went over 12 games in the league under Mourinho’s watch. Manchester United haven’t been too successful in recent years but there is huge belief in the camp.

“They are a serious force, and there’s no reason why this momentum would stop between now and May.

“Man United still have a massive role to play in the title race.”
