Man United facing competition to sign Greek defender – report
Manchester United are set to face competition from Inter Milan for Kostas Manolas, according to reports
Manchester United are facing competition from Inter Milan to sign Roma defender Kostas Manolas, according to reports in Italy.
Calciomercato.com are claiming that Inter are interested in the Greece international but the Serie A giants don’t want to sign the defender until the summer transfer window.
The Sun stated last week that Manchester United had made a £32.5m offer as Jose Mourinho looked to improve his defensive options following injuries to Eric Bailly and Chris Smalling in the season.
Manolas, who is under contract until 2019, has made 16 appearances in all competitions for the Rome outfit this season.
Mourinho made Eric Bailly his first signing of the summer transfer window after the Ivory Coast international moved to Manchester United in a £30m deal from La Liga outfit Villarreal.
The African defender suffered a serious knee injury during a 4-0 loss at Chelsea in October before Chris Smalling succumbed to injury to leave Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo as their interim first-choice centre-half partnership.
