Man United involved in three-way battle with Premier League rivals for France midfielder – report
Manchester United want to beat their Premier League rivals to the signing of Monaco's Tiemoue Bakayoko, according to reports
Manchester United are set to rival Chelsea and Manchester City for the signing of AS Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, according to reports.
The Daily Record are reporting that Jose Mourinho wants to sign the French midfielder to improve his options in the middle of the park in the January transfer window.
The same article states that 22-year-old is Mourinho’s number one midfield target after he spent a world record £89m to bring Juventus star Paul Pogba back to Old Trafford in the summer.
However, the story goes on to reveal that Chelsea manager Antonio Conte and Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola are also keeping tabs on the highly-rated Monaco midfielder.
The Daily Record reveal that Monaco value Bakayoko in the region of €25m (£23m) and are willing to sell the France prospect in the January transfer window to capitalise on current interest.
Manchester United brought in four new players in the summer following the appointment of Mourinho as Louis van Gaal’s successor.
