Pundit makes bold prediction about Man United’s title hopes
Dietmar Hamann runs the rule over Manchester united's Premier League title hopes this season
Dietmar Hamann believes that Manchester United are set to haul themselves back into the Premier League title race this season ahead of their crunch clash with Liverpool on Sunday.
The Red Devils have found some good form in recent weeks after struggling to find their feet earlier on in the campaign following Jose Mourinho’s appointment at Old Trafford.
Manchester United have won their last six games in the Premier League as they prepare to take on their bitter local rivals at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Mourinho’s men are still 10 points behind leaders Chelsea but they know that a win over Liverpool would cut the gap to the Reds down to just two points.
And Hamann feels that Manchester United are set to develop into a serious force in the Premier League title race as the season reaches its conclusion.
Writing in his blog for Paddy Power, Hamann said: “Ten points is a lot of ground to make up on Chelsea, but in the third week of December they were nine points off fourth place.
“Now they’re only three points away from Man City in fourth, and can close the gap to Liverpool to two if they win on Sunday. It isn’t impossible.
“Jose Mourinho’s game has changed. He’s not as brash or cocky as he was earlier on in the season, and Manchester United look like a different beast now.
“It’s really come together for them. They have the most talented squad in the league. There’s no doubt about it.”
Manchester United finished fifth and won the FA Cup last season.
