Man United striker opens up about Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s influence at Old Trafford
Marcus Rashford is savouring his chance to learn from Zlatan Ibrahimovic at Manchester United
Marcus Rashford says he is making the most of his chance to learn from Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic at Old Trafford.
The former Sweden international has wasted no time having a huge impact on the Manchester United team since his summer move to the Red Devils from Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain in July.
Ibrahimovic has answered his critics who suggested that he might struggle in the Premier League after an incredible return of 14 goals in 20 games in the English top flight so far this term.
The 34-year-old has helped to raise the performances of his team-mates with his talismanic role in Jose Mourinho’s side.
Rashford has found his first-team opportunities limited since Ibrahimovic’s move to Old Trafford after falling down the pecking order under new manager Mourinho.
However, the teenager is soaking up the experience of training and playing with Ibrahimovic.
“For the young players coming up to see his character and mentality, it’s invaluable. Some players just can’t bring that when they move clubs. We have to try and learn from him. We need to take what we can from his game,” Rashford is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.
Rashford scored eight times in 18 games in all competitions under Mourinho’s predecessor Louis van Gaal last term.
